On 2nd Dec 2016 Friday, Jibon Uthshab of Gulshan Society was celebrated in a befitting manner. This Annual Gala Get-together organized for the members of Gulshan Society & their family members at Army Golf Club started from 6pm-630pm onwards. This was not a mere dinner program rather it was designed as a colourful greet-meet enjoy & dine festivity event to enrich and strengthen the bondage among Society Members. Alongwith President and General Secretary of Gulshan Society, all EC members and members of Cultural Committee received the guests at the gate. Other than members of society and their friends & family, sponsor advertisers and some other distinguished guests were also present in the program.
The program started sharp on time at 7pm. Renowned model Ms Azra Mahmood anchored the whole program.
The Jibon Uthshab celebration started with a musical soiree performed by Gulshan Society members Ms Kaniz Fatema Tilti, Mr Ahmed Jamil Ibrahim, Mr Faheem Hussain and Ms Perveen Sultana; they sang numbers of wonderful songs which audience enjoyed very much.
After the lovely song events, Gulshan Society President Dr ATM Shamsul Huda delivered his speech where he explained the concept of Jibon Uthshab where all society members will meet, greet and get to know each other better to spend a wonderful evening together to take back memories which can be cherished for a long time. He thanked the society members for their immense support in the society activities for a better community living in Gulshan. He called upon the EC members on stage and introduced them to the audience. He gave special accolade to the Cultural Committee for organizing the event and called upon Advocate Hosne Ara Ahsan, Convener of Cultural Committee to introduce the members of Cultural Committee to the audience.
After this, Mr Syed Monzur Elahi, eminent industrialist, social activist and national policy maker, delivered his Key Note presentation. He praised the current Gulshan Society office bearers for their relentless works for making Gulshan better livable, safer and cleaner. Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Mr Annisul Huq also spoke after him, expressing his support and gratitude to Gulshan Society President, General Secretary and other members for assisting in City Corporation works, shoulder to shoulder.
Joler Gaan, the famous folk band, performed after this and mesmerized the audience with their music and songs. Their pakhir gaan (song of birds), pataar gaan (song of leaves) and other life songs brought out real-time virtual stories to the audience. When they finished, the audience were left captivated with their musical remnants for quite a long time.
General Secretary of the society Barrister Omar Sadat gave vote of thanks before dinner; he thanked all society members, the committee members, Key Note Speaker Syed Monzur Elahi, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Mr Annisul Huq and his team, RAJUK officials, Gulshan Thana officials and the advertisers who contributed in the souvenir and fundraising auction items.
After dinner, Bid-Your-Pick event was conducted which was an exciting fundraising auction; society members participated sportingly in this and items were sold with active contribution from them.
All-in-all the program was a colourful, lively and memorable one with spontaneity, festivity, joy and happiness; making the Jibon Uthshab full of life, in true sense.
